The look at the new Iggy's is similar to the old location, with the familiar bordello red and black interior with industrial metal and neon lighting. Much of the old Iggy's has been transplanted -- look for the original blue neon outside, and the celebrity autographed wall from the Milwaukee Avenue location has been removed and now is enshrined in Plexiglas near the host stand. A tongue-in-cheek "see no evil, speak no evil, have no fun" theme is expressed here with "in character" sock monkey photos as clever wall art. The menu remains the same with the fried calamari, artichoke heart fritters, lemon butter bowtie pasta, and seafood Alfredo as headliners.
Weekly events include Friday after work promotions, strolling mariachis on Saturday afternoons, and a 30-item build your own bloody Mary bar during Sunday brunch. The Sunday DayRa and movie night lives on, with vintage horror flicks and cult classics screened after sundown.
Looking for a Bacchic night? You supply the debauchery, Iggy's will take care of the rest. Dedicated to the pleasures of late night eating and drinking, the spot exudes a sort of neighborhood chic, rolling lounge hip and corner joint into one.
During the summer, there are multiple outdoor seating options, with a both a rooftop garden and a sidewalk cafe. The tree-lined rooftop has a handful of reservation only Miami-esque cabanas that seat eight, plus additional less glamorous seating for those who didn't phone first. The lower level alley-side cafe has birch trees to block both the view and the noise, a bonus with heavy North Avenue traffic.
