About Liberty Lounge

The Liberty Lounge is located on the campus of the beautiful Mount Royal College, Canada’s leading undergraduate college; just a 5 minute drive from downtown Calgary.

With a licensed capacity of just under 300 persons, complete with a full-service bar and friendly staff, The Liberty is ideal for all types of mid-sized live-performance events. The venue’s renovation, completed in August of 1999, was conceived and designed to capture and enhance the dynamics of live music performance, providing the best possible “live” sound, lighting and unobstructed sight lines from anywhere in the room.

Since 1999 The Liberty Lounge has hosted some of Canada’s largest performance artists such as Sam Roberts, Moneen, The Hidden Cameras, Hawksley Workman, and Sarah Harmer. It has also served as a development room for some of the country’s best up-and-coming talent like Broken Social Scene, Stars, The Weakerthans, The Constantines, Buck 65 and Kathleen Edwards.
