To be truthful, only the live bands that occupy the stage every Friday and Saturday night might traditionally be considered to be intentionally performing. But the Night Gallery is not a traditional place, and the mass dancing, carousing, and socializing that happens on any night can turn out to be an rather entertaining unrehearsed performance.
In general, the Night Gallery offers a fair bit of variety in it's DJ programming and is an important showcase for bands both local and travelling through. To some people, it's not just about partying: it's about art and integrity. To others, well, it's just about partying. That eclecticism that makes it a place well worth visiting.
