Monroe Grill And Lounge
The name “Monroe” was inspired after Kashour’s roots in Lebanon. “There is an area there named Monroe that is always full of life—it’s where people go to have a good time at restaurants, hotels, cafes.” It’s where Kashour began his culinary career, working in a hotel kitchen, and ever since he’s been inspired by its spirit of survival. “Even after being damaged again and again by war, the business owners just rebuild. And tourists just keep going, people are attracted to it. We hope to obtain that essence here.”
Families, girlfriends and even business executives will feel at home in its easy elegance—the wood-burning oven at the front sets a welcoming, comfortable tone. Monroe’s booth nooks offer an ideal setting for intimate dining, or diners can enjoy taking in the scene at open tables nestled by sun-washed windows and cozy fireplaces. Be prepared to bring a camera, the restaurant features an abstract chandelier hanging dramatically from a 30-foot ceiling.
The restaurant is open for brunch, lunch and dinner daily, and there is plenty of free parking. Monroe’s 4,000-square-foot airy space offers seating for 100 in the dining room, and 30 in the lounge, just enough room for special events, birthdays and private reception.
