The Boston Bijou Theater opened on Washington Street in 1882 as the first American playhouse lit entirely by electricity. The electrical system was installed and supervised personally by Thomas Edison. Flash forward 129 years and Bijou Nightclub is ready to entertain you in Boston’s Theater District on two illuminating levels.
Onyx Lounge –
The brainchild of artful/passionate DJs and seasoned club vets, Onyx lounge defines a new and elevated generation of luxury nightlife. With its killer sound system and supreme service, the attention to detail makes our third level lounge an ultra VIP experience. The room offers something for everyone at one of three flushed bars placing patrons at the epicenter of the action, or at a birds’ eye view from the more spacious rear portion of the room. With 19 tables dotting the entire floor from every angle, there is not a bad seat in the house.
Gold Lounge –
A polished lounge setting that offers guests an intimate atmosphere in the plush banquets or at the luxurious center bar. With 16 tables, the Gold Lounge sets the mood for a night of mingling and motion. Early in the night, the room boasts a low key bar scene with a subtle musical background, best lending itself to socializing. A perfect place to end your evening in the theater district or get it started as the lights drop just a bit lower, the crowd floods in and the music elevates to a fever pitch.
