Glens Falls Civic Center
Glens Falls Civic Center is a 4,806-seat multi-purpose arena located in downtown Glens Falls, New York. Built in 1979, it was originally the home of the Adirondack Red Wings, the former American Hockey League affiliate for the Detroit Red Wings. Although the Civic Center has not hosted a tenant AHL franchise since the 1999 season, the city has proved to the new ownership of the Philadelphia Phantoms that Glens Falls and the Civic Center to be a natural fit for their hockey organization. The newly named Adirondack Phantoms, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, will begin there inaugural season in October of 2009.
This versatile multi-purpose complex includes an arena for sporting events, concerts, and family entertainment as well as dance, theatre and trade shows. Also included under the civic center roof is a 7,335 square foot banquet facility appropriately named Heritage Hall as it highlights the rich history of athletics in Glens Falls, NY.
