Grand Banking Hall
Step into the Grand Banking Hall and you'll feel like you've stepped back in time. All eyes are immediately swept upwards to the ornate ceiling soaring two stories above. The gold leaf coffered design features the colourful emblems of Canada's nine early Confederation provinces (the bank was built before Newfoundland joined the Confederation). Adding to the magnificent architecture of the room are stately Corinthian columns and towering floor-to-ceiling cathedral windows with views over the corner of Yonge and King. The bank's original marble deposit tables still flank the entrance to the room while the 100ft long bar – the longest in Canada – has been artfully modeled after the original tellers' counter.
