Nestled in Chinatowns heart of darkness, fortune sound club is Vancouver's only venue built for sound. Ultimately dedicated to bringing the best and meanest flavor for your ears, the intimate and eco-friendly space has been specially designed for the world-renowned Funktion-One soundsystem. It also features three VIP rooms, a main stage for live shows, and eclectic installations. Fortune Sound Club is the baddest downtown mutha that will surely honor all of your indiscretions.

From deep within the loins of Chinatown comes the rebirth of Vancouver nightlife in the form of Fortune Sound Club. What was once an infamous Chinese restaurant, the revamped space focuses on innovative design, art that cant be messed with, and eco-friendly features, all of which are highlighted by the most official sound system. Nuanced by the grit and grime of the historic locale, Fortune Sound Club seamlessly blends high and low; downtown, up-from-the-street ambience in a clean and modern setting.

The intimate and innovative space by Orangutang Design is equal parts quality, function, conscientiousness, and aesthetic appeal. Eco-friendly design specs include recycled gluellam beam bar tops, table tops, and shelving; locally-manufactured LED lighting, a new and highly efficient HVAC system, T5 fluorescent lighting, low VOC paints, TOTO (http://www.totousa.com) low-flow toilets and urinals, as well as a locally-designed and built stainless steel custom bar.

On the technical side, the world-renowned Funktion-One Soundsystem (http://www.funktion-one.com) is slyly tucked away in the venues exposed beams and gilded brick. Fortune Sound Club has been designed around the sound system in order to maximize the technology. The choice of Funktion-One speaks to Fortune Sound Clubs very essence - to respect the sense of sound and how it is integral to the Fortune experience at an organic level. This exceptionally high calibre of sound quality creates a new paradigm for nightlife by providing an incredible platform to connect with the crowd. Funktion-One sound combined with an eclectic mix of music and performances is what makes it one bad mutha that will surely honour all of your indiscretions.

To compliment the Funktion-One Soundsystem, Fortune Sound Club offers a custom DJ booth, which can cater to a four-turntable battle or any house aficionado. Stay tuned for two custom VIP rooms designed by Rick Klotz (http://www.freshjive.com) and Kenta Goto (http://www.brknhome.com) for Livestock (http://www.deadstock.ca) respectively, which will be available for private parties. In the main space, a 16-foot-by-16-foot stage opens up to a reclaimed, red oak dance floor with plenty of bounce for the knees. Fortune Sound Club presents the freshest goods, whether its for a one off party, a special event, a live show, or one of our weekly jams.

Weekend nights at Fortune are host to Happy Ending Fridays and Experience Saturdays. Two different nights, but each with the goal of bringing the roughest, toughest sound that no one can test.

Happy Ending Fridays feature the worlds best on rotation alongside local superstars. Anything goes at Happy Ending Fridays. No matter what style or genre of music, Friday nights promise to put forward only the best and meanest flavour for your ears for a truly happy ending to the week.

Saturday nights have become the new home for Rob Rizks & friend's longstanding club night, Experience. As Vancouvers only deep house night, it offers the city a new vibe to be explored. Experience Saturdays gives opportunity for the best of the best to sit in and create something new for music lovers. Live elements including vocalists, dancers, and percussionists mix it up on the main stage to create dialogue with the sweaty, pulsating crowd.

Through the progressive and modern interior design, superior sound system, and overall commitment to innovation, Fortune Sound Club provides a new dimension for the citys nightlife.
