Opened by the owners of The Dark Room, (another Lower East Side dance joint/dive bar) The Annex is home to the hip scenesters who religiously attend its weekly parties like Friday's Ruff Club and Tuesday's Lewd Party, where up and coming DJ's incite a raucous dance party.
The three-story club features a small stage for live music or DJ's and large bar on the main floor, a tiny basement for rowdy dancing, and an upstairs VIP lounge. On any given night, a performance by local indie bands kicks off the evening, occasionally followed by an open bar depending on the night's sponsor, eventually resulting in a dance party that lasts until morning.
